We’re excited to present CIGF 2024: Canada on the world stage
CIGF is a multistakeholder forum for digital policy dialogue. Driven by a multistakeholder organizing committee, CIGF provides an opportunity for Canadian leaders across the internet community to discuss the most pressing and timely public policy issues facing the internet.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CIGF pivoted to an online webinar series, CIGF Talks, to keep the conversation going while respecting local health guidelines. In 2023, CIGF returned to its original conception as a full-day, in-person forum (while keeping a virtual option open).
CIGF is a national initiative of the United Nations IGF and is a part of the IGF’s National Regional Initiative (NRI) community. Representatives from CIGF attend the global IGF each year to promote the Canadian policy priorities derived from CIGF meetings, and each CIGF post-event report is fed to the NRI and IGF Secretariats.
As a national initiative for all of Canada, CIGF holds its annual meetings in different cities each year to account for its regional diversity and to give a chance to all Canadians to join the conversations in person.
Yes. At each CIGF event, we provide simultaneous interpretation between both official languages, French and English and encourage participants to speak in whichever language they are most comfortable in.
Registration for CIGF2024 will open soon.
